K2 International launches in Europe

London, 30th September 2020, K2 International (K2), the specialty insurance and reinsurance underwriting platform, is pleased to announce the establishment of European operations with the opening of an office in Brussels. The office will be led by Michael Butcher, Head Underwriter for K2 International Europe S.A., who reports to Richard Coello, Managing Director, K2 Financial.

The new operation in Brussels will further strengthen K2’s existing international business and will initially focus on responding to any absence of EU passporting rights at the end of the Brexit transition period. In time, the benefits of the Brussels office will be rolled out across K2 International, to produce direct distribution benefits to brokers across Europe.

Based in New York, Alie has been in the insurance industry her entire career.  For the past eight years, she has focused exclusively on the public entity segment.  In her current capacity, she is responsible for production underwriting of new and renewal accounts in the East Region of the United States.  Alie has a B.S. in Business Administration from Wagner College and is currently pursuing her CPCU designation.

K2 Acquires Rockhill Insurance Group’s General Liability and Gas & Propane Distribution Businesses

(March 1, 2018) – K2 Insurance Services, LLC (K2) has announced it has acquired the Rockhill Insurance Group’s (Rockhill) General Liability and Gas & Propane Distribution lines of business. Rockhill is a subsidiary of State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company (State Auto). The transaction includes K2’s purchase of Rockhill subsidiary Partners General Insurance Agency, LLC (PGIA). The PGIA General Liability operations will continue in its current locations of Simi Valley, Calif.; Naperville, Ill.; Richmond, Va.; and Dallas, Texas. The Gas & Propane Distribution operations will continue under K2 in the current Conway, Ark. office. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., a Stifel Company, served as financial advisor to State Auto in the transaction.
